Alternative ways to provide a software support service

Following on from the blog post I wrote about providing a successful software support service, and as part of the same discussion, we also brainstormed some alternative ways to provide software support to our customers. What do you think…? Do you think any of these could work better than the techniques we currently employ!?

  • Interpretive Dance: Expressing solutions through graceful movements.
  • Telepathy: Sending answers directly to your mind.
  • Carrier Pigeon: Delivering messages the old-fashioned way.
  • Morse Code: Tapping out responses in dots and dashes.
  • Smoke Signals: Sending updates via puffs of smoke.
  • Mime Performance: Acting out the solution silently.
  • Singing Telegram: Serenading you with the answer.
  • Haiku: Responding in poetic 5-7-5 syllable format.
  • Puppet Show: Using puppets to explain the issue.
  • Magic Tricks: Revealing solutions with a wave of a wand.
  • Skywriting: Writing answers in the sky with an airplane.
  • Semaphore Flags: Waving flags to communicate.
  • Comic Strip: Drawing a cartoon to illustrate the solution.
  • Shadow Puppets: Using hand shadows to explain.
  • Flash Mob: Organizing a dance routine to convey the message.
  • Ventriloquism: Using a dummy to speak the response.
  • Riddle: Providing the answer in the form of a riddle.
  • Treasure Hunt: Sending clues for you to find the solution.
  • Balloon Messages: Tying answers to helium balloons.
  • Time Travel: Sending a message from the future.

Personally I’d like to try interpretive dance or shadow puppets… the rest of the team are less keen though!!!
